Packed and Ready to Go

I generally have trouble sleeping the night before we travel.  I have a fear of not being able to wake up and missing a flight so I usually get 3-4 hours of sleep.  This time is an exception....I have not slept at all.  I tried but could not sleep so I've been up doing paperwork and my night has just flown by quickly just as I had hoped.  I was really good about not wishing my time away this summer because that would mean I was wishing away the excitement of summer with Bethany.  So, as much as it killed me to make the days last while waiting for September 7th, I had one of the best summers.  But my patience has come to an end and I want to be on the long flight super fast (in Bethany's words).

Bethany ran into our room this morning at 7am and asked if it was "trip day", I answered yes and she let out a very loud "yippeeee, I'm so excited to go see my baby Rebecca.  Let's go super fast Mommy....oh, and do I have to go to school?"

The last final touches have been done and now Bethany and I can have breakfast.  I am starting to get sleepy now.  Makes sense if I was already in China because it is sleepy time there right now.  I've checked the weather and Beijing will be 29 degrees when we arrive.  Actually the whole week looks to be in the  high 20s.  The teller at the Bank of China told me yesterday that this was the perfect time to travel if you like the kind of weather we have been having here except in China it is not humid.  That's just perfect for me.  I love my sun and heat when on vacation.

We have a very busy itinerary for the next 2 weeks.

Undoubtedly, the best day will be Monday and then again I'm looking forward to visiting the orphanage.  That day will be exhausting physically as I'm told it's at least 3 to 3 1/2 hours each way to the orphanage; it will also be emotionally overwhelming to see the Rebecca's home for the last year.  But I want to be able to thank the nannies for taking care of our baby and show them that her Mommy is committed to take great care of one of their children.  We didn't get the chance to visit Bethany's orphanage but this time we do.  Tim is reluctant to take Bethany to see an orphanage at her age so he gets the privilege of spending the day with her while we are away.

It is time for me to say "hasta luego" as I get ready to leave the houe in 2 hours on our way to the airport.  We believe we are fully equiped with all our electronic gadgets to keep our Girls entertained and occupied on the long flights.

Our bags are packed and we are ready to go.

Hasta Luego......China here we come....finally!
